On the topic of online learning, I decided to show you a website where you can play board games, online, for free! That website is called Tabletopia.com.
Here is a video of myself giving an introduction to the website! I hope you enjoy it!
Reflection
I realized that after I had finished the video that I forgot to mention that there were other websites that you could go to and play board games. One other website is called boardgamearena.com, and though it is quite similar to that of Tabletopia, the computer controls a lot of the pieces in terms of movement (you select pieces or cards and the computer will automatically move them to the right place).
I think moving forward, instead of teaching games in real life, I will use Tabletopia or Board Game Arena as it is easier to show the game. I found that when I set up board games on the table and try to record it, it takes up a lot of space and time to record every detail. With Tabletopia or Board Game Arena I can use a lot of features such built in camera angles to show various parts of the board game that I want to teach. Screencastify also makes it easier to record rather than using a phone to record all the moving parts of a live board game.
My hope is to eventually hold a board game night and record it and put it up in one of my final inquiries, but of course, that will depend on availability of people, and if time permits on my end as well.
Feedback
I hope you enjoyed this week’s inquiry post! Let me know what you think about using online board game apps like tabletopia, or if you prefer to play board games live on an actual table! Until next time…

Tabletopia, wow! Great post showcasing Tableopia, I really appreciated your thorough walkthrough of the site as well. I definitely see what you mean by how it is very time-consuming to set up a board game and to make sure to record every detail, the same thing I would run into with chess. I’m really looking forward to how that board game night finale will end up looking (and perhaps earn a seat at that game!).
To reply to your feedback prompt – I really enjoy games in person as it becomes just as much a social event as it is a game. Playing games online though is great when you just want to focus on playing the game.
